Born in Framwellgate Moor, Durham City, Camsell signed for Middlesbrough FC in 1925. A phenomenal goalscorer, Camsell reached a total of 418 goals in 325 games, hitting an amazing club record of 59 in 37 games during the 1926-27 season, when Middlesbrough won the second division championship. In all, Camsell scored 24 hat-tricks for his club. He also played nine times for England, scoring 18 goals.
